Healing isn’t just about what we practice—it’s about how and why it works.

In this interdisciplinary panel, we’ll explore the mechanisms behind yoga and meditation through the lens of neuroscience and fascial science. Our expert panel will unpack how these practices influence the nervous system, the brain, and the body’s connective tissue—and how those systems communicate to support resilience, regulation, and repair.

Expect a dynamic, accessible discussion that bridges ancient practice and modern research—offering insight into why these tools remain so powerful, and how we can apply them with greater intention.

This panel is for teachers, practitioners, and the curious alike—anyone interested in understanding the deeper mechanisms of healing and how yoga and meditation support the body’s innate intelligence.

Intro to Teaching Yoga for Fertility & Hormone Optimization
Saturday June 13, 2026 2:00pm - 3:30pm EDT
Limited Capacity seats available
Yoga teachers looking to find an amazing niche should consider learning how to work with individuals who want to get pregnant. Fertility Yoga is the groundbreaking work that explores the different yoga techniques that balance our hormones and release our stress. By releasing our stress our bodies are better able to function with our reproductive needs. Yoga helps with fertility in a number of ways: through stress reduction, encouraging hormonal balance, helping people with their mental health, and helping with pain relief. Yoga is also known to help boost endorphins. The same way that women get balancing of the hormones, a man can also see improvement of sperm production practicing yoga. There have been studies that show that doing fertility yoga during Ivf or art helps increase the chances of getting pregnant as well. Yoga is also helpful for relaxing the muscles of the hips and pelvis to promote a healthy pregnancy. When teaching each fertility yoga class the class ends with a discussion and meditation involving balancing the chakras associated with fertility. This way every pathway is focused on in this fertility yoga class.

Melissa Boyd is a master teacher with over 30 years experience as a movement specialist. She spearheaded the first program for yoga and fertility in Long Island and worked in collaboration with two infertility clinics and a wellness group bringing the work into fruition. Melissa has been teaching yoga for fertility for over 20 years, and now continues to take on private or couple clients, as well as teaching risings in it.

A Yoga of the Foot: 3 Easy Points for being a Better Biped
Saturday June 13, 2026 4:00pm - 5:30pm EDT
Limited Capacity seats available
As a species, humans have been walking erect for about 2 million years. Yet, in what amounts to an evolutionary blink of an eye, the natural unprocessed earth has literally been pulled out from under our feet. We have leveled, paved, and otherwise smoothed out the unpredictable terrain our feet evolved to live upon. Added to this insult is the injury of restrictive footwear and poor gait habits.  It’s no wonder we have an epidemic of physical ills in the industrialized world that can be traced back to our compromised foundations.

This workshop will delve deeply into the anatomical structure, function and retraining of our feet as the foundation for a healthy asana practice and for living more fully functional lives as happy bipeds.
